C. “Pancake” Turner is a disease-free, generally even-keeled graduate student who enjoys short nylon shorts, woodchucks, sleeping on public transportation, and writing lovelorn missives to Jenny Barringer. He splits his time between Austin, Texas, and the fires of Morgoth. He attempts to educate college students for a living, a vocation that is intellectually, if not fiscally, remunerative, and which leaves him plenty of time to fart around on the internet looking for shirtless photographs of Finnish track stars from the 1970s and 80s.
